The Terms and Conditions of Insurance state exactly what applies and what you can apply for compensation for.

Processing time

Right now the processing time for our student insurances is long. That means that it might take about eight weeks before you’ll hear from us after you have sent us your claim form. A claim adjuster will get back to you when it’s your turn.

Submit a claim

  1. Download and fill out the claim form.

What do I need to do to obtain the insurance?

As a student, you cannot order the insurance by yourself. Contact your university and they can order the insurance for you.

Who does the insurance cover?

The insurance has been developed for those who are enrolled at an educational institution in an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) programme.

Where and when is the insurance coverage applicable?

The insurance is valid 24 hours a day while you are participating in the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) programme. It is also valid worldwide as long as the trip is part of your academic studies.

What does the insurance cover?

The insurance covers:

  • Medical care as a result of illness and dentistry.
  • Compensation to family members in the event of death.
  • Permanent disability.
  • Liability protection if you need to pay compensation for damages for some reason while you are enrolled at an educational institution. This could for example be that your landlord is demanding you pay compensation for damage in your accommodations.
  • Theft or loss of a passport, tickets or other travel documents.
  • A family member’s travel to visit if the student should become seriously ill.
  • Interruption protection if you need to interrupt your academic studies in special circumstances, such as the death of a close relative.

How can I obtain an insurance certificate?

Contact your Swedish university, they can assist you to obtain an insurance certificate.

For those who are ordering insurance for Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) students

You who are an authorised administrator at the University can order the insurance. If the University has a responsibility to provide insurance, you can order a group insurance policy that applies to all students within the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD).
