Guide to business insurance

There are different types of insurance available for state employees working abroad. Below is a guide with information on the different insurances specific to your situation. You can find more in-depth information for each insurance in the menu.

If you’re a state employee and will be travelling on business

Employees of a public authority who travel on authority business are covered by Swedish State Business Travel Insurance. This insurance includes medical and dental coverage (not in Sweden), home transport, personal property coverage, third party liability and legal expenses. Contact the human resources office at your authority for more information. This is insurance is free and has no deductible.

If you are stationed abroad and have signed a URA contract

If you have a URA contract for your appointment abroad, the URA insurance applies to you. This insurance includes medical and dental coverage (not in Sweden), home transport, personal property coverage, third party liability and legal expenses. Contact the human resources office at your authority for more information. This insurance is free of charge and has no deductible.
