The insurance policy applies the definitions specified in the Agreement on Overseas Contracts and Guidelines for Employment Conditions for Service Abroad (URA), as well as the definitions set out below.

Emergency medical care

Care for urgent and relatively short-term medical conditions, which arise suddenly during the insurance period, and for which the insured may need to visit a hospital within a matter of days. Emergency medical care includes, for example, necessary treatment of an illness that arises while abroad, requiring treatment as soon as possible, e.g., stomach pains or fever.

Emergency dental care

Dental care to alleviate the insured’s pain or infection, to temporarily fill any visible gaps in teeth and to ensure that the insured has at least one (1) functioning chewing surface. The term “visible gap” means the complete or partial loss of any of the ten front teeth in the lower or upper jaw. In the event of damage to teeth caused by chewing or biting, reimbursement is only paid for the emergency treatment that is performed abroad.
